House and pool with minor movement due to hillside and local saturation of subgrade
Posted on April 20, 2019 | April 20, 2019 by Jeremy Livermore, S.E., P.E.
This house had experienced both slope creep damage from the hillside movement and also local saturation of the soil underneath the house. both causes created a similar effect which is stucco cracking, sloping floors, and drywall cracking.
However because the conditions were not severe enough a retrofit by underpinning stabilization and lifting was not prescribed.
It was only prescribed for the pool.
Thanks,
